About Tim Willborn

The upstream E&P business sector has been very good to me over the years, but recently has been a difficult market to say the least. I started my career during the summers while in college, working offshore GoM as a roustabout/roughneck for Dual Drilling. After graduation I went to work for Baroid Drilling Fluids where I worked as a fluids service engineer for various operators in the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast and offshore GoM, where I managed the drilling and completion fluid systems as programmed, manipulating these systems as needed depending on the varying conditions experienced during operations. In 1996 I went in house as a Technical Service Engineer for Vastar Resources GoM, South TX, South LA & Oklahoma operations where I supervised Baroid field personnel and consultants working on all projects, prepared the fluid programs based on offset data, pore pressure/frac gradient prediction and geology/rock mechanics. I provided project support with the use of software and modeling, which included: hydraulics, pore pressure/frac gradient prediction, cost analysis, solids analysis, rheological modeling, and bench-marking success and failure on a well by well basis in order to achieve constant improvement. I then held the same position from to 2004 in-house at BP in Houston, TX. Since that time I have worked as an account manager and operations manager in the E&P Waste Management business, fluids & logistics manager and sales & marketing manager in the Turnkey Drilling & Completion, Project Management & Consulting businesses, sales & marketing manager in the Specialty Drilling & Completion Chemical business, and an account manager in the OCTG casing & semi premium connection business. My career path has provided me with the opportunity to meet and do business with E&P operators and service providers in the offshore GoM arena, S. TX, S. LA, OK arenas and the resource shale plays in TX, OK, CO, AR, PA, OH, WV and Calgary AB.
