About Tim Wissink

Entrepreneurial scientist with expertise in the fields of physical chemistry and spectroscopy. I hold a PhD in electrochemical CO2 reduction and gained industrial experience by founding a student team focused on hydrogen carriers. This initiative evolved into a successful start-up, DENS, that manufactures generators for off-grid energy provision. Skilled in project management, public speaking, and stakeholder engagement. During my studies and PhD, I got challenged in multidisciplinary engineering and R&D projects. I gained skills related to- Electrochemistry (electrolyzers, fuel cells, CO2 reduction)- R&D project management - Material science and characterization - Spectroscopy - Scientific publishing - Science communication, in conferences and competitions, awarded with a first price in a university-wide pitch competition As chief of the chemical team at Team FAST and supply chain manager at DENS, I gained experience in collaborating with colleagues from different cultures and nationalities, leading a team and motivating others. I gained skills related to- identifying promising technologies - scaling technology from lab to pilot-scale - making roadmaps for industrial implementation - stakeholder management for setting up a supply chain - arranging funding for new projects from investors and subsidy schemes. Besides working and learning, it gives me great pleasure to do sports. I continuously improve my running and have the ambition to run along with the best athletes in my environment.
