With over 40 years of dedicated service in the dynamic world of the printing industry, I've had the privilege to witness the evolution of this ever-changing field. My journey has been marked by hands-on experience, leadership, and a relentless passion for the art of printing. I have recently begun a new role as Commercial Operations Manager at Complete Colour. This will be a wide ranging role including estimating/costing, materials management, waste reduction, improvements in productivity/efficiency and many other areas i can assist in. Previously Commercial Manager at Southern Impact, a leading player in the industry. I led a team of talented estimators and project managers who provided the sales team with all the support they need to both secure sales opportunities, and then turn them into successful products for their customer base. The role involves setting the commercial strategy for the business, identifying opportunities for producing jobs more efficiently, as well as negotiating best pricing from our suppliers. I have been responsible for the implementing of our current MIS, as well as being the internal expert and champion of the system. I am just as comfortable stepping in to estimating/production planning tasks when needed, as i am analysing or calculating the cost rates for our production equipment. My combination of trade background and Bachelor of business gives me a unique insight into the commercial side of the industry. The printing industry is full of unique challenges, and I thrive on finding creative solutions to overcome them. My problem-solving skills have been pivotal in allowing us to find solutions to many production challenges. Prior to this role I had 13 years as Operations Manager for Southern, responsible for all production through our factory. This included managing the fast paced, high volume production challenges of meeting deadlines whilst ensuring that quality was maintained. Responsibility included the 45-50 production staff.
