Curriculum Developer: As a curriculum developer I am intrigued by how to best assist adults with learning new things, improving their scope of knowledge about familiar content, and seeing the AhHa(s) of new learnings. Using andragogy as the base of good pedagogy is so critical to ensuring curriculum is sufficient for the audience it is created for. Researcher: As a researcher I am passionate about finding answers to big questions that improve outcomes for the populations that are centered in the research. Constructing and implementing research studies to completion is so exciting. Learning how data can create change, improve processes, or help to develop opportunities. Being a researcher is an identity marker I honor. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: As a global citizen, these constructs are not just important they are necessary to my humanity. Diversity, is not just a term for those that are "othered" it is an inclusive term that call each person to do their part for all our humanity. Equity is a justice issue and justice is one of our greatest acts as those who value humanity. Justice is what love looks like in action. Professional development provider: I focus on various aspects of district, school and classroom systems for discipline, curriculum and instruction, and equity practices. I have been a requested speaker on Classroom management, Culturally Responsive Practice, Disciplinary Disparities, and Family and Community Engagement. In my consistent work as a professional development provider I have worked with school leadership, principals and teacher leaders, to extend their ability to engage in meaningful discussion, skill building and action research to improve instructional practices, and student engagement. My experience, research and passion have included providing consultation, training and support to schools in addressing issues of compliance with Special Education regulation for the state of Indiana on disproportionality. Roller Skating Enthusiast: Just to keep it brief, I keep a pair of skates in the car at all times. You never know when you might have a few minutes, or a beautiful place to skate.
