About Timo Melman

I am an enthusiastic product manager interested in all kind of human-robot and human-automation interaction. I am currently the product manager responsible for TomTom's new flagship app. I balance my time between defining the long-term vision for our mobile app, based on user needs, and conducting numerous small experiments to differentiate our product and maximize its value for users. Simultaneously, I work closely with my engineering team to move towards this vision. I enjoy being part of all the stages in a systems design from understanding user needs to setting technical requirements, building prototypes and evaluation. I thrive in a position that requires a helicopter view while being able to dive into the details when needed. My drive to make sense of complex systems and explain them to customers is supported by a strong analytical background in data analysis, computational modelling, simulation, implementation, project management, and evaluation through experiments.
