About Timo O.

A curious and ambitious data professional with an entrepreneurial attitude and competitive sports background, passionate about making a change through my career. My versatile University studies allowed me to get a global business view on procurement, sales, and marketing with a sustainable and responsible mindset from my major in International Business which was then completed with the industrial and technological perspective from my other degree in Industrial Engineering Management. I have worked in many different positions throughout my work experience, which has given me the ability to see business from various perspectives and understand the meaning of every single phase when creating value for the customer and society. This along with my positions of trust has taught me a lot about business and myself and I am eager to learn even more. In order to stay on the crest of the technological wave, I have included programming and other computer science courses into my curriculum. So far I have gained knowledge to work with Python, SQL, R, and Stata. I am especially interested in solving problems that involve getting insights from data and numbers. I am currently working on getting a better understanding of ML and AI. Due to my enthusiastic and energetic personality, I always have a lot of going. This requires me to handle several different projects at the same time, work under pressure and keep on learning new things at the same time. However, this does not mean that I am not putting effort into the quality of my work. On the contrary, I would describe myself as somewhat of a perfectionist who always works with quality first. As my busy days are often limited by time, I have adapted philosophies from my competitive sports background alongside Lean and Kaizen principles in order to get more efficient and learn something new every day. Even though I am a workaholic who loves to get out of my comfort zone, I am social, kind of goofy, and problem-solving-oriented. I bring positive energy to my working place and take people around me into account and love to share laughs at the office coffee breaks. I have always been a big fan of the Finnish Moomin characters and there is one quote from Moominpappa which is something I truly believe in and live by:"The world is full of great and wonderful things for those who are ready for them."
