About Timo Roine
I am a Finnish Ph.D. and M.Sc.(Tech.) specialized in medical imaging (diffusion-weighted and functional magnetic resonance imaging), computer vision, mathematical modeling and multivariate regression methods. I did my Ph.D. about advanced high angular resolution methods in diffusion MRI at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. My current research focus is to further improve these methods and their reliability in clinical applications. In addition, several ongoing projects concern the application of these methods in the investigation of structural and functional brain connectivity in many brain diseases. The ongoing clinical projects concern for example pediatric neurology, psychosis, consciousness, traumatic brain injury, autism and cardiac arrest.
