About Timo Sullivan

Timo is from Kealakekua, Hawaii. If you include a childhood of pulling weeds on a Kona coffee farm, he has spent a lifetime working in invasive species management. He holds an MS in Tropical Conservation Biology and Environmental Science from the University of Hawaii, where he researched how to efficiently estimate best management responses to nascent populations of invasive species. With a focus on developing novel tools and methods towards protecting endemic island biodiversity, he has worked with UAS (uncrewed aerial systems, i.e. drones) for over 10 years, trying his best to adapt their potentials into powerful and practical management tools. He had the privilege to help develop and implement UAS programs for the Hawaii Invasive Species Committee, the Hawaii University Spatial Data Analysis and Visual Laboratory, and Island Conservation. He is probably too passionate about island-endemic flora and fauna, as well as music and words. He also thinks riding a motorcycle across foreign lands is pretty cool.
