About Timothy Baker

As a current MBA and MSF student at the Knauss School of Business at the University of San Diego, I am seeking opportunities to utilize my skills and knowledge in finance, strategy, and consulting. I am a driven, results-oriented individual with experience in both the military and academic worlds. My background in Operations Specialist in the United States Navy has honed my ability to make effective decisions in high-stress environments. I have also developed a range of skills in financial modeling, consulting, and team leadership, including leading a team of three to provide consulting work for a client in Australia and providing ESG consultancy services to a client to enhance their communications plan. As a former student assistant at the Financial Markets Lab at San Diego State University, I enhanced my Bloomberg Terminal skills and cultivated a learning-friendly environment through events and cross-departmental collaboration. Additionally, as a member of the Student Finance Association at the University of San Diego and the Finance Investment Society at San Diego State University, I gained unique insights into the financial industry through guest speakers and workshops, co-created and participated in a financial modeling workshop with 30+ attendees, and co-developed financial models for stock pitch competitions. With my proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and basic skills in Python, I am confident in my ability to provide valuable contributions to any team. When I'm not in the office, you can find me cutting hair, hiking, swimming, or enjoying Broadway theater and concerts.
