About Timothy Batty

Software teams often struggle with long cycle times, brittle code, and delivery risks that frustrate both developers and business leaders. As a senior XP developer and coach, I work with engineering teams and hiring managers who want to improve delivery speed, product quality, and team capability — without sacrificing sustainability. Coached a team to cut cycle time from 13 days to 5 days, accelerating delivery. Built a React Native point-of-sale app now running in thousands of restaurants worldwide. Led a zero-downtime transition to a new authentication service for a live production system. I combine hands-on coding with coaching, embedding XP practices like TDD, pairing, CI/CD pipelines, lean MVPs, story-mapping, and discovery trees directly into the development workflow. Teams become faster, safer, and more confident in delivery — while building codebases they can actually maintain.
