About Timothy Carol

I enjoy challenging work and work well without clear guidance or direction, trailblazing is something I live for. I have 23+ years of IT experience with a focus in Data Center support and operation. I began my professional career with the U.S. Army in 1989 as a Transportable Automatic Switching System Operator/Maintainer (MOS 36L). While serving in Germany I was promoted to the Switch Supervisor managing the switching team and all the equipment. I was active in the Gulf War and some of the actions that followed it and was awarded three Bronze Stars for the actions I was involved in. After leaving active duty (1995) I took a job as the manager of a local audio/video store. I managed the day-to-day operations and inventory management as well as a small video rental department. As part of my responsibilities I also repaired A/V equipment (TV's, VCR's. Stereo's etc.). I then moved on to being a contractor for a couple technical man-power companies doing a wide range of technical jobs. This led me to join Intellisys Group in 1998 where I become the assistant manager of the rental department. While there Intel Corp. contracted us to perform A/V jobs all around the US, which I was the lead on. The work performed was shown to have a great impact and value to Intel that they hired me on full time. During my years at Intel my duties have been wide and varied but my focus was always IT, or tech, related. Some of the work I have done at Intel has been- data center manager - project management - operations manager - people manager - back-up and recovery, disaster recovery and data retention process owner - lab manager - data center support - hardware and application support - programmer - SQL DBA - SOx compliance process creator and auditor - technical writer - engagement manager One of the things I am most proud of while working for Intel was the Proof of Concept work I did with streaming media inside Intel. By the time I took over the project this technology had never worked. Today it is used with great effect.
