About Timothy Carpenter

I have had over 15 years experience in the customer service and sports and entertainment industry. I have worked for such professional sports organizations as the Los Angeles Angeles, Los Angeles Galaxy, Los Angeles Football Club, New York Yankees and the 2016 World Series Champions Chicago Cubs, and yes, I did receive a World Series Championship Ring too. I have also learned the skills to be a journalist, whether it would in the field or in the offices. I have dealt with a number of situations while being a managing editor with the Los Angeles Collegian, the weekly newspaper published for the students, professors and other facility members at Los Angeles City College. Before I have done these things and continue to do and learn from the University of Southern California majoring in Media Management at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. I was an home health attendant for 12 years, taking care of my aunt while she was battling ovarian cancer, before passing away in October 2016. While I was at Los Angeles City College, I was part of a team which won two Pacemaker Awards, equivalent of a student Pulitzer Prize, and our publication, The Collegian was a two time finalist for best student news publication for two-year colleges with or more students. Also, in 2010, I was part of a group of students who won the Journalism Association of Community Colleges (California), Frank Overbeck Fee speech Award in a You tube piece entitle,"The Fight For Free Speech at City College," detailing what the president of L.A. City College was attempting to silence Free Speech at L.A. City College. I will be working for the student broadcast publication, Annenberg TV News starting this fall as a producer, and learning how to be an executive producer of Annenberg TV News, so when I graduate I will have the skills and abilities to be in this industry and enjoy doing it.
