About Timothy Casilli

I was involved in preclinical epilepsy research in the Forcelli lab at Georgetown University where I completed my senior thesis project: The Effect of Senescent Cell Ablation on Seizure Burden in a Rodent Model of Temporal Lobe Epilepsy. I have used research techniques such as PCR, qPCR, microscopy, histology, maintenance of a rodent colony, and drug administration. All of these lab techniques were in concordance with data quantification and analysis using imageJ FIJI, graph-pad prism, Microsoft Excel and R. I furthered my research experience using similar techniques to study post traumatic pediatric genetic epilepsies in the Rotenberg lab at Boston Children’s Hospital. Currently, I am working as Medical Scribe, assisting emergency department providers with documentation and obtaining patient history. I am also volunteering in research through Brown Emergency Medicine investigating the efficacy/ frequency of emergency department based management of hypertension following transient ischemic attack or mild ischemic stroke.
