Background
About Timothy Clifton
I perform research in relativity and cosmology, which is the study of the Universe as a whole. I've worked at Stanford University, CERN and Oxford University, before I moved to Queen Mary University of London in 2012. I've written a book on gravity, have held prestigious fellowships, and have published more the 50 research articles in peer-reviewed journals. I am currently on the editorial board of the journal Classical and Quantum Gravity, and have previously held the position of Honourary Secretary in the Gravitational Physics Group at the Institute of Physics. I lecture undergraduate courses in quantum mechanics and general relativity, for which I have been awarded the departmental teaching award, and have supervised five PhD students through to graduation.
