Working in the real estate appraisal industry for many years, through several economic cycles, I am currently employed with U.S. Bank as a residential review appraiser — state certified in Connecticut and New York, having reviewed exclusively since 1998. This followed much time performing appraisals of single family and 2-4 family income-producing homes, as well as condominiums and co-ops. My experience in this arena, which runs the gamut from ramshackle foreclosures to some of the priciest luxury estates in Connecticut, has been for purposes such as: — Mortgage and banking — Corporate relocation — Probate — Tax appeal — Real estate owned (REO) — Divorce settlements — Setting listing prices for market exposure In my various roles in the industry as an expert in collateral risk analysis — both on the retail and wholesale ends — I have interacted and consulted with middle and senior management, underwriters, closers and processors, and in earlier years loan officers and account executives. My experience is not limited to performing appraisals, reviews, and collateral risk analysis, however. Supplementing these include: — Mentoring new appraisers — Teaching the nuts and bolts of the appraisal process one on one to mortgage professionals — Completing due diligence analysis for investor loan buyback requests — Conducting small group appraisal seminars for wholesale mortgage executives — Examining brokers’ price opinions (BPO) — Writing local market reports for management — Assessing real estate market conditions for management on the review of appraisals of luxury Connecticut and New York homes, the top $34 million. Through my time in the industry, I’ve performed reviews of appraisals of properties in virtually all 50 states. My key strengths lie in meeting production goals, research, analysis, and business writing — I was an English major in college — and getting along exceedingly well with colleagues and clients alike.
