About Timothy Givens

I have worked in 6 major US pediatric hospitals over the past 34 years and have held a variety of administrative positions, from director of fellowship training program(s), to medical director of emergency departments, to section chief of pediatric emergency medicine, and now vice chair of clinical operations for department of pediatrics. During this time I have acquired skills in operations management, strategic planning, quality improvement, financial management, human resources administration and faculty development. At the time I stepped down as section chief of emergency medicine at University of Colorado to assume the vice chair role in January, 2018, I was running a business that grossed $35 million in clinical revenue, had approximately 170 employees, and delivered clinical care at 7 sites where we saw patient visits annually; had a highly competitive and successful fellowship training program; developed innovative educational outreach initiatives; and garnered over $1.5 million in extramural grant funding and saw a proliferation of clinical research dissemination with an unprecedented number of publications and presentations at national scientific meetings.
