What can I say? I wanted to be a starving writer. Then I started starving, which made me rethink my priorities: Food, good. Shelter, good. Writing, also good, but maybe there's a way to express my creativity and keep a fully-stocked fridge at the same time. Advertising was the path I chose, back in the days when it was still called "advertising." A lot has changed now, but a lot hasn't. You still need to capture a share of someone's heart and mind, reward them for paying attention and get paid in a timely manner. The vehicles are different now, and we have a lot more competition for consumers' time and money. But it's still the toy department of the business world. It's still challenging.
