About Timothy Jachna
Timothy Jachna is Professor of Architecture and Dean of the School of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) at the University of Cincinnati. He earned degrees from the University of Illinois at Chicago (BArch), the Architectural Association, London (AADip) and RMIT University, Melbourne (PhD). He has previously held academic and professional posts in architecture, design and urbanism in Hong Kong, Berlin and Chicago. His recent research and publication deals with psycho-sociological aspects of the planning, design, construction, inhabitation and critique of urban environments, spanning scales from the object to the regional plan. The future of cities, particularly in the East Asian context, is a particular focus of concern. Jachna has presented and published in disciplines as diverse as urban theory, tourism, digital culture, social innovation, semiotics, participatory design, art, architecture, planning, cybernetics, and human-computer interaction.
