Background
About Timothy Kolaczkowski
Welcome! I'm Timothy Kolaczkowski, an Educational Leadership candidate at North Central College. My immediate professional goal is to step into the role of an assistant principal or dean. I'd like to emphasize four key experiences that make me a strong candidate for a leadership position: 1. As an administrator at the After School Assistance Program (ASAP), I undertake various responsibilities, such as evaluating MAP data, IRLA scores, grades, and attendance to determine program eligibility. I oversee progress on IXL, facilitate teacher meetings with 15 staff members, logistics, while also serving as the on-site administrator to handle student behavior matters, etc. My experience as an administrator for the Chicago Arts Partnership in Education (CAPE) program during the summer of 2023. I handled student conflicts, logistics, engaged with parents and community resources, supported students' needs, managed behavior plans, led in crisis situations, and coordinated an end of year event. The role of administrator for the program of nearly 200 students honed my decision-making skills. My background as a school social worker allowed me to build positive relationships with both staff and students, making the transition to administration feel natural. I've served as a Team Leader for my PPS Team. Within this role, I attend all building leadership team meetings and team lead meetings. While attending these meetings I am required to record important information to share back with my PPS team and facilitate PPS team meetings. The PPS team at the middle school consists of 15 members and I have experienced the importance of communication, approachability, and following through for your team members concerns and advocate for them. My membership and acceptance into the Illinois Principal Association's School Leader Pipeline Program. Through this program, I've been mentored by a principal with over 25 years of experience in Chicago Public Schools. By the summer of 2024, I will have received over 40 hours of guidance from my mentor. As a future assistant principal, I plan to continue my mentorship program through continued guidance from a mentor principal because I value the opportunity for growth. Additionally, through the program's assistance, I've had the opportunity to directly observe principals and assistant principals during 10 school days. I appreciate your time in reviewing my profile, and you can find further information below detailing my experiences that have paved the way for my journey in educational leadership.
