Former Superintendent | Director of Student Defense | Education Leader | Advocate for Equity and Student Success I am a seasoned education leader with over two decades of experience driving systemic improvement in K–12 education, university instruction, and student advocacy. As the current director of the Student Defense Team at K Altman Law, I guide students and families through complex educational and disciplinary processes focusing on fairness, due process, and long-term success. Previously, I served as a successful Superintendent of Schools in rural and urban districts, leading initiatives that raised student achievement, improved graduation rates, and modernized operations. My leadership is rooted in equity, community partnership, and strategic planning, supported by a proven ability to navigate budgeting, school turnaround, policy development, and staff development. In addition to my K–12 leadership, I have taught at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels, equipping the next generation of educators with practical tools and visionary thinking. I am a proud Army veteran, having served at Fort Bragg, and I remain committed to public service through board participation, including with United Way. My experience spans classroom management, education reform, student discipline, and crisis response—always with a student-first mindset. Whether leading a school district, advocating for student rights, or mentoring future educators, I remain focused on building institutions that work for every learner.
