About Timothy Masterson

As an Editor in the Business Wire newsroom, my responsibilities include working with clients in order to get their news on to the wire and to the media. Communication is key, as these clients trust us with market-sensitive information. I work under tight deadlines while providing top-level customer service, helping our clients through their own high-pressure situations. My goal is to always give them the confidence that their work with us will be my top priority. My strong communication skills and ability to work independently allowed me to transfer seamlessly to working remotely. At Business Wire, I also worked as a Media Relations Tech. In that position, I was responsible for developing the connections that allow our content to go out over the wire and reach the media, the public and investors. I worked with media points to develop the connection between our company and them. After that connection was established, I helped maintain the relationship with the media points and served on behalf of our clients in order to ensure the quality of our distribution across all channels. I have always worked in demanding, fact-paced environments. My previous experience, at ESPN SportsTicker and as Assistant Director of Sports Information at Saint Peter's University, also involved working under the pressure of deadlines, both with in-game situations and larger, long-term projects. Another common thread in my experience is the importance of time management and working independently.
