About Timothy McGrath

I’m a soon-to-graduate Mechanical Engineering student from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Over the past few years, I’ve had the chance to work in a variety of industries, where I was able to apply and learn some valuable skills. Most recently, I interned with the City Engineer in Michigan City, Indiana, where I made sure sidewalks met ADA standards and worked closely with city officials to improve accessibility. Before that, I was a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at Howmet Aerospace, where I led a major project to remap a plant floor. I’ve also got hands-on experience installing HVAC systems, where I implemented my own maximum-efficiency scrap recovery process and trained new team members. I love being involved in projects and teams, like the Illinois Space Society, where I helped design and simulate rocket components and created 3D terrains for animated launches. I’m also skilled in various technical tools like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Python. I’m always eager to learn and take on new challenges. I’m looking forward to bringing my engineering skills to a team that values creativity and innovation!
