About Timothy Peck

Fundamental to my life’s work as a serial health-tech entrepreneur, physician, executive, advocate and designer is the belief that the healthcare system is not broken. Rather, it was designed poorly and is working exactly as designed. I am working on the next step in my journey to fundamentally change the way US healthcare works to be more desirable for its users. I’ve been practicing human-centered design for over a decade, having lived in a nursing home for 3 months to research and build Call9 (YC Summer '15)- a health technology company I founded which saved the lives of seniors and saved millions of healthcare dollars. I subsequently founded Curve Health, a hospital-at-SNF program currently scaling and serving patients in multiple states. As Executive Portfolio Director of Health at IDEO, I spent my time thinking about big societal problems and organizing teams and technologies to solve them. In particular, I focused on designing beautiful experiences at the end-of-life, connected health, and combating loneliness and isolation. Having personally experienced critical illness myself, I have an intimate knowledge of medicine as a patient and a provider. I’m attuned to the rigors of leadership, especially after leading a team of 39 talented residents through a year that included the Boston Marathon bombings. Most recently, I put my experience to work to transform patients’ lives on an even bigger scale at CareScout, having teamed up with a F500 insurer to deliver products and services that change the way we navigate aging.
