About Timothy Rose

I am a classically trained social psychologist who has administered a number of high-impact studies for academic, government and private clients. Through my work on socially significant projects for the CDC, various state agencies and local municipalities, I have developed a keen awareness of the difference high-quality data can make on the lives of individuals. I have served as a senior member of the Survey Research Lab at Kent State, with over 8 years in planning, programming, and administering granted-funded survey research projects. In my current role as Field Operations Coordinator, I am responsible for almost every element of survey deployment. I have trained numerous Survey Research Lab personnel in their various positions and coordinate the assignment of personnel to various tasks within and between projects, as well as coordinating with project stakeholders. During this time, I have also cross-trained in the collection, analysis and presentation of qualitative data collection, with a focus on gathering qualitative data from rural populations. I have gathered traditional qualitative interview data, video-assisted in-depth interviews and telephone interviews. The latter of these have been used to gather respondent feedback to refine established survey measures for the State of Indiana. I am trained in standard quantitative and qualitative analyses, along with advanced multivariate model and structural equation modeling techniques that are essential for modern social psychological research. In my thesis research (2016), I presented the results of a 6-month project to gather video-recorded interviews and visual data on the impact of fracking in a rural Ohio village that was the sight of a multi-billion dollar gasification plant. For my dissertation research on identity theory (2019), I used SEM techniques to demonstrate how the difficulty of moving through space for rural folks shapes how religious they feel and ultimately behave.
