Background
About Timothy Ross
My practice starts from observation of the rhythms of life and how we as humans can integrate with those rhythms or not for our benefit, pleasure, pain or detriment. I grew up surfing. Watching wind, water, tide, swell direction and sea floor combine in spectacular and more or less predictable ways to provide incredible opportunities for those willing to pursue it. Chinese medicine practice is similar to this. Chinese medicine emerges out of a philosophy which places man’s harmonization with nature at the utmost of importance. Man is intended to act in accordance with the local climactic conditions which prevail as well as the larger and smaller cycles of human existence (heart beat, respiration cycle, solar cycle, star cycle). Interventions within Chinese medicine are intended to place man back into harmony with nature. These interventions include herbal drugs, acupuncture needles, manual manipulation, therapeutic exercises, meditations, nutritional counseling and “spiritual guidance”.
