About Timothy Sampson

I consider myself primarily a technically oriented tester. However over the last ten years I've done lots of different things: developed test strategies, exploratory testing, lots of automated testing, performance testing, built out monitoring and central logging stacks for distributed systems, migrated testing systems to the cloud, written testing libraries, handled deployments and debugged production problems and written quite a lot of code (lots of testing code and a bit of production code also). My domain has primarily been in distributed web backend systems (on Linux) but I've been in a few mobile and desktop clients projects also. I like things to be simple and take pride in doing a good job. My focus is to make whatever I'm working on as simple, robust, introspectable, performant and debuggable as possible. Basically to make it a pleasure for the end-user to use and a fun and productive project and codebase to work with. I consider myself a pragmatist and genial, relaxed and easy to work with.
