About Timothy Scott

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at Vanderbilt University, where I conduct research on the role of DNA methylation as a record of epigenetic memory through cell development. I have a Master of Public Health with a focus on biostatistics from the University of Louisville, and two bachelor's degrees in Spanish and Evolutionary History of the Human Species from the University of Florida. My core competencies are computational biology, data analysis, statistics, pipeline development, and experimental design. From July 2022 to May 2023, I worked as a data analyst intern at Decode Health, a company that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide insights and solutions for healthcare challenges. I supported the data science team in developing and testing algorithms, models, and pipelines for various projects, such as predicting disease risk, identifying biomarkers, and optimizing treatment outcomes. I applied my skills in statistics and data analysis to perform data cleaning, manipulation, visualization, and interpretation, using tools such as R and Python. I enjoyed working with a diverse and collaborative team of data scientists, engineers, and healthcare professionals, and learned a lot from their feedback and guidance. I am passionate about using my knowledge and skills in human genetics and data science to improve human health and well-being, and I am eager to join an organization that shares this vision and mission.
