About Timothy Shininger

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Wisconsin. I'm also the Clinic Director and Owner of Comprehensive Counseling Services, LLC in Port Washington, WI. In addition to my clinical experience, I have several years of administrative experience. Prior to operating Comprehensive Counseling Services, I served as Director of Outpatient Behavioral Medicine Clinical Services at Columbia St. Mary's, Inc, a multi-hospital healthcare system in Southeastern Wisconsin. I'm a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy. I'm one of only a few mental health professionals in Wisconsin listed on I provide psychotherapy treatment for children, adolescents and adults with a focus on marriage and family issues. I also specializes in treating anxiety and mood disorders as well as helping individuals with parenting issues, grief/loss, and marital communication/conflict. I use primarily cognitive behavioral and systemic approaches in treatment. I have a special interest in studying and applying the science of psychology to the Catholic view and understanding of the human person.
