About Timur Budak

My teachers were quite disappointed as they heard about me opening a pizza delivery business right after school - after all I had the best grades of that year's graduating class. But I was 18 and wanted to make better pizza as I had eaten it in my hometown. I guess we achieved that goal as we were voted best pizza in town two years in a row. The urge to study was always there, so I went back to university and got my Bachelor of Science in Business Studies (concentration in Behavioral Economics) and was eager to get my Master's degree too (Master of Science, Business Studies, concentration in Entrepreneurship). Almost finished, with just the thesis left, there was another chance to start a startup - which led to founding an amazing ice-cream brand with recipes and a quality standard not seen in the industry before (healthy, natural, no artificial ingredients). After selling pints of ice-cream, an uninsured melt-down of a big portion of our stock and a global pandemic, we ended that chapter with the best of memories and a ton of gained experience. During the first Corona lockdown, I went down a rabbit hole and fell in love with the technology and its implications: I studied Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies in general, blockchains and their underlying tech and all sorts of Web3 implementations. I joined Glassnode as one of the first 20 employees and love to see it (and the whole industry) scale, and contribute to that.
