About Tina Sefton

My name is Tina, and I’d love to share a bit about my career and what drives me. For the past eight years, I’ve been working as a teacher in Beauty Therapy within vocational education. In my classes, I combine subject expertise with personal attention, helping students not only to develop their skills but also to grow in confidence and professionalism. Alongside teaching, I create learning materials that are closely aligned with real-world practice and the needs of my students. An important part of my work is my role as a study career coordinator, where I’m responsible for designing the curriculum for all three academic years. I coordinate all tasks related to study career guidance and support students in their personal and professional development. My focus is on encouraging self-reflection, ownership, and a future-oriented mindset—helping students take confident steps toward their goals. In addition to my teaching and coordinating roles, I coach teachers who are completing the Pedagogical Didactic Certificate (PDG) program and conduct assessments as part of this process. Across all my work, development is the common thread—whether it’s the growth of students, colleagues, or myself. To further expand my expertise, I recently started a Master’s in Human Development, specializing in Change Management. Organisations including those in education—are constantly evolving. Through this program, I’m deepening my understanding of how to guide change processes in a sustainable and people-centered way. The insights I gain are valuable in my current work and will also allow me to advise organizations more broadly in the future, both within and beyond education.
