Background

About Tinathan Lewis

As a substitute teacher for middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9 through 12), I provide backup teaching services when full-time teachers are unable to work. This includes executing lesson plans left by the absent teacher that ensures consistency and encourages students to participate in classroom discussions. I create and maintain a respectful and fair classroom culture that fosters safe and productive learning. According to the lesson plans, I assign classwork and homework as necessary. I modify my own style of teaching to fit the learning styles of various students, as well as those styles predetermined by each individual teacher. I monitor, observe, and report student behavior according to school policies and procedures by supervising students in the class and out of class such as in the hallways and in the cafeteria.
