About Tingjun Liu

I am a dedicated computer science researcher and software engineer with a deep passion for problem-solving and innovation. My technical experience spans full-stack web development, game development, AI research, and blockchain integration. Proficient in languages such as Java, C++, Python, PHP, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Spring Boot, Flask, and Django, I have worked on diverse projects that merge creativity with advanced technology. I am well-versed in machine learning, having hands-on experience with models like CNNs, RNNs, and Transformers, and I regularly work with AI tools and platforms, including TensorFlow and PyTorch. My academic and professional interests also extend into computer vision, computational biology, and blockchain development using Solidity. Currently, I work as a Research Assistant at Washington University in St. Louis, contributing to the SmartKitchen project at the AI for Health Lab. In this role, I am responsible for research on action segmentation, video recognition, and continuous data processing, working at the intersection of artificial intelligence and real-world applications. Previously, I held multiple roles that enriched my understanding of both software development and research. As a Software Development Intern at The Open Network (TON), I contributed to Web3 integration, fine-tuning large language models to optimize TonGPT, TON’s intelligent assistant. During my time at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, I developed algorithms for robotic arm object recognition, leveraging advanced techniques such as RANSAC and Vision Transformers to significantly improve accuracy. In addition to my technical expertise, I have consistently demonstrated leadership and teamwork in fast-paced environments. As Senior Web Editor for the Washington University Student Media Inc, I led the redesign of the 2024 version of the Studlife website, overseeing a team responsible for maintaining server health and resolving critical bugs. I am also the Founder and Leader of Washington University Chinese Groundbreakers, where I organize hackathons and research seminars aimed at fostering collaboration and mutual growth among computer science students. I am constantly seeking new challenges that allow me to apply my technical expertise to innovative projects that push the boundaries of technology. With a strong foundation in computer science, I aim to continue contributing to cutting-edge research and real-world applications that address complex problems in technology and society.
