About Tj Poon

From trauma-informed spiritual direction to one-on-one or group story coaching, I am available to walk with you on your journey to being loved and free. I hold stories with tenderness and care as I invite you to deeper honesty, complexity and courage. My introduction to narrative healing work happened almost 20 yrs ago when I was handed Dan Allender's The Wounded Heart in a brown paper bag. Diving into my family of origin and story of sexual abuse started a journey of healing that changed the trajectory of my life. As an adult, my spiritual formation has been shaped by my work in an Asian American campus ministry. In that context, I've learned about mutuality, space-sharing and servant leadership in ways that have deeply altered my way of being in the world. I have a particular passion for the intersections of racial identity development and spiritual formation, and would love to be with you on your racial identity journey as well. I have spent many years working through “anxious spirituality” and moving to a secure relationship with God. On a silent retreat, I noticed a new lightness in my spirit and said to myself, “this is what it is to be loved and free.” Now, loved and free have become words that describe both what I hope to experience and invite others into for themselves in narrative work and spiritual direction.I live in Austin, TX with my husband and two children and I would love to be a support to you in your journey wherever you are!
