As the Financial Aid Director for Compliance and Default Aversion at Dallas College, I am driven by a deep commitment to student success, equity, and access. With over a decade of experience in higher education and a Master of Public Administration, I have dedicated my career to navigating the complex landscape of financial aid policy, regulation, and reform to better serve students and the communities we represent. My leadership is rooted in a passion for empowering students to make informed, responsible decisions about their education and financial futures. I have successfully managed and stewarded millions in federal and state aid, ensured institutional compliance with evolving regulations, and implemented strategic solutions that remove barriers to access and completion. I lead with intention—leveraging data, collaboration, and compassion to guide cross-functional teams, support colleagues, and champion initiatives that enhance financial literacy, reduce default risk, and promote responsible borrowing. I find purpose in mentoring and training the next generation of financial aid professionals, cultivating a culture of accountability, advocacy, and care. Above all, my mission is clear: to create systems that support students holistically, equitably, and sustainably—ensuring they not only start their academic journey but are empowered to complete it with confidence and financial well-being.
