About Tj Wagner

I am a research professional trained in psychological research methods and behavioral pharmacology. Currently, I am conducting research at the intersection of epigenetics, neuroscience, and visual processing, which has enabled me to gain and develop skills in data analysis and neurobiological techniques. My goal as a lifelong learner is to continue to implement these skills and grow my knowledge base, specifically in the realm of data science.At UNCW, I completed a master's degree that afforded me the opportunity to learn and implement operant conditioning techniques combined with pharmacological manipulation. Through my coursework, I was able to gain skills in SPSS and learn general statistical methods, which planted the seeds for my current interest in data analysis. My master's thesis was a summation of the skills I learned, and resulted in a published manuscript after graduation.In my current position at Duke University, I am involved with a project studying a plasticity-related protein with regards to visual processing. I have become proficient with analyzing neural data using custom MATLAB scripts, which has challenged me to tackle quite complex data sets. Further, I am spending time outside of work learning Python and R as potential alternatives to analyzing my data.
