I'm an entrepreneur with an optimistic vision of the future. I believe that the power of technology combined with a deep respect for people, community and our environment are the keys to business success. I'm interested in exploring how businesses can integrate with society and learn to function in harmony with nature's rhythms and limits. What does it mean for a business to create value, and how do we do this responsibly and in a way that heals the world? As a company, our goal is to recognize excellence at any level. Some of our clients include NASA, the United Nations, Microsoft, Oracle and IBM, so we understand what it takes to supply and partner with some of the most successful organizations in the world. Through my work at the Strathcona BIA we are looking to develop Strathcona as Vancouver's Green Zone, a community of progressive businesses that supports and celebrates sustainability, values collaboration over competition, and views our local economy as an ecosystem that’s interconnected with residents and artists. This means not only bringing sustainable thought to local businesses and organizations, but also developing the broader community and services that will assist with their sustainability initiatives. Sustainability provides a promising framework for dealing with the economic, environmental and social challenges of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. At Eclipse Awards, we believe that recognizing the leaders that move our society forward intelligently is a critical element in the movement towards sustainability - or any movement for that matter.
