About Toby Denham

Toby is the founder and director of the Toby Denham Studio in 2019. After 24 years of experience working closely with Sir Terry Farrell CBE, Toby set up his own practice specializing on urbanism and producing designs with an intimate understanding of “place” and context. Toby’s design solutions are transformational yet sensitive and responsive. With many published drawings, Toby is an accomplished designer and able to communicate complex ideas and compose clear project narratives. Toby was co-author of “The Town Centre After the Virus” recently published by Developer magazine. In 2020, Toby joined Jo Cowen Architects as Director of Regeneration where he has led on the design of an 800 unit BTR scheme in Bedford for Present Made and the design of home Worcester Parkway Garden City master plan around Worcester Parkway station which includes the design of a significant new town centre and Basildon Town Centre Regeneration Previously a Director at Farrells,(1995-2019) the internationally renowned architects with offices in London, Hong Kong and Shanghai led by architect and urbanist Sir Terry Farrell CBE, Toby worked both in Hong Kong and London offices working closely with Sir Terry on the design of many award winning projects from Kowloon Development in Hong Kong to Earls Court in London. Toby's clients have included L&G, Elandi, Present Made, MTRC, KCRC, Quintain Estates, British Land, Lendlease, Hammerson UK, Leeds City Council, Capital & Counties, Folkestone Harbour, Far East Consortium and London Borough of Sutton.
