About Toby Flack

I’m currently a GP working at Cedar Family Practice in Waterford City. I also hold roles with the Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP) as a committee member on the Quality and Safety in Practice committee. I am currently GP representative for the HSE Dublin and South East Womens Health Network. I completed GP training on the South East Ireland training scheme. I have previously worked as a Palliative Care SHO in Waterford Regional Hospital. I have completed my foundation programme years in Devon, working at both Derriford and Torbay hospitals. I was previously a medical student at St. George's, University of London. I chose to undertake my medical elective with the Student BMJ as a Student Writer. My current research interests include writing for the Clinical Review Service in Forum GP journal, Postural Orthostatic Tacycardia syndrome (POTs), anaphylaxis, allergy and anti-epileptic medications in women of child-bearing age. During my studies, I have held employment as a Student Ambassador and Clearing Hub advisor for St. George’s, and have worked freelance as a football referee. In addition, I have held multiple committee positions within the Mens Football team culminating in being elected as club president in my final year. I have also been elected as Sports Officer for the Students Union, and held a voluntary role in the Teddy Bear Hospital charity, as well as being a cast member for the charity Fashion Show. I hold an MBBS from St. George's, University of London and a Bsc (Hons) from the University of London. I am currently registered with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
