Background

About Toby Hawes

I am a strategic executive and board-ready leader with over a decade of experience advancing governance excellence, operational resilience, and enterprise strategy across fintech, construction, consulting, and professional service industries. I bring a value first lens to strategy, turning complex challenges into structured, innovative, and, sustainable solutions that strengthen organizational resilience and drive long-term growth. My leadership philosophy centers on building a culture of trust, creating enterprise value, and ensuring operational resilience through digital transformation, agile decision-making, and strategic clarity. I have led and managed P&L oversight for organizations and large-scale divisions for small and mid-sized enterprises of up to $400M, delivering measurable impact through frameworks that align operational execution with board-level priorities. I hold an MBA from the University of Maryland and executive certifications in Strategic AI with an emphasis on AI Governance (MIT), with ongoing studies in Product Innovation (MIT) and Corporate Governance (Wharton). As a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), I actively engage in boardroom dialogues on emerging risks, corporate governance, and regulatory trends shaping the modern enterprise. Beyond the boardroom, I mentor future leaders through Junior Achievement and support youth-led nonprofit initiatives focused on education.
