About Toby Savage

I’m the Co-Founder and Commercial Director of StirLight, where we develop advanced manufacturing solutions for high-performance components. Our focus is on Friction Stir Welding (FSW) of aluminium, steel, titanium, and copper. Our mission is to turn manufacturing processes into intelligent, responsive systems that support sovereign capability across aerospace, defence, nuclear, and clean-tech. We work closely with OEMs, supply chain and research bodies to deliver process development, pilot manufacture, and production solutions using our FSW platforms. My background includes more than a decade in oil broking and commercial leadership. I built a profitable Mediterranean broking desk, advised boards on strategy, and led national marketing and product launch campaigns in pharmaceuticals. This commercial experience helps me navigate long-cycle industrial sales, complex partnerships, and early-stage deep-tech commercialisation. At StirLight, I lead commercial strategy, partner engagement, and roadmap development. Our goal is to establish StirLight as a flexible, high-integrity UK manufacturer that can tackle the industry’s most demanding joining challenges.
