I am a naturopathic physician, certified nutrition specialist (CNS), co-owner and medical director of Born Integrative Medicine Specialists, PLLC. I am the Director of Product Development, Scientific Advisor, and Editor-in-Chief of the science-based Focus Newsletter for Allergy Research Group, as well a medical wellness advisor for the International Medical Wellness Association, and Key Opinion Leader for Augurex Life Sciences Corp. I graduated from Bastyr University in Seattle, WA in 2010 and completed my residency at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health, its thirteen teaching clinics, with rotations at Evergreen and Harborview Medical Centers’ Emergency Medicine Departments, and Virginia Mason Hospital’s department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Spine Clinic. I am extensively published, have appeared on KRON4 News, multiple national radio shows, and lectured as an expert for the National Psoriasis Foundation and National Arthritis Foundation. I regularly lecture at medical conferences across the country and internationally. My clinical focus is utilizing integrative medicine to treat families of all ages who have complex chronic diseases, with a strong interest in difficult and refractory cases, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, autoimmune disease, allergies, endocrine, neurological, pediatric, and GI issues. My areas of expertise include medical practice, dietary supplement product development, management and formulations, regulatory and scientific affairs, scientific writing, public speaking, business strategy and implementation for both retail and HPC channels. I am exceptionally organized, detail oriented, strategic and systemic, providing expert level guidance and advice to the dietary supplement industry, from product concept (innovation), formulation, raw material sourcing, regulatory affairs, to commercialization and final product launch, including competitor cost analysis. I have been told by my direct reports and employees over the years that I am a very thoughtful, empathetic, understanding, and considerate leader. I write, review, and edit FDA/FTC compliant structure/function ad copy and labels. Extensive experience in formulating simple to complex dietary supplements for existing companies and start-ups, in both the retail and healthcare practitioner channels. I have expert level abilities to formulate, source, collate substantiation and validation documents, review COA’s and spec sheets, product flow charts, MSDS, allergen statements, and interpretation of white papers and associated dossiers.
