Currently serving as counsel for multinational and North American Insurance teams within AIG Property and Casualty providing legal guidance to management and various business and functional units on a wide range of insurance and reinsurance related legal issues, including transactional, compliance, regulatory and policy wording matters, contract, corporate communications, marketing, product development, litigation management, global captive management, and broker management. Extensive experience working with senior reinsurance and underwriting operations. Lead contract negotiations with counter-parties and brokers on captive/fronting, multinational, facultative and treaty reinsurance transactions, and program administrator and vendor services agreements. Previous law firm, insurance regulatory and in-house counsel experience, including serving as in-house counsel for large U.S. property and casualty insurance holding company (30+ affiliated companies) writing multi-line business in 50 states. Conducted legal research, drafted memoranda, and advised company on legal, regulatory and reporting issues. Conducted activities related to multi-jurisdictional licensing issues, marketing, investment and accounting areas. Supervised non-claims litigation and market conduct examinations. Represented company before state regulators and government agencies. Drafted contracts and inter-company reinsurance and operational management agreements. Assisted in M&A transactions involving insurance entities and books of business. Coordinated the incorporation and operational setup of various corporations and other entities.
