About Todd Ake

Mechanical Engineer with over 30 years experience. Graduated Georgia Tech with Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering while co-oping at Kimberly-Clark and working at the Southern Tea Company. Began working full-time at Kimberly-Clark in 1985. Have worked at multiple locations at both staff and plant positions developing new processes and leading projects. Was awarded a patent (have two more pending) for one such development. Have led multiple projects including new machine installations, machine process upgrades, and building expansions. Bicycle & Pedestrian Advocate. Served three years as vice chair and chair of the City of Conway Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board. Was Awarded 2013 Bicycling Advocate of the Year Award by the Conway Advocates for Bicycling. Founded and coordinated "The Amazing Ride", a bicycle event collecting goods and money for local charities. Was responsible for Kimberly-Clark becoming the first manufacturing company in Arkansas to be awarded a "Bicycle Friendly Business" by the League of American Bicyclists. Currently oversee the Bike Share and Repair Garage that refurbishes bicycles and distributes them to underprivileged people in our community.
