About Todd Field

After graduating from Massey University in 2008 I have worked in a range of veterinary clinics. I love the diversity of cases that each day brings and the challenges of the constant learning being a vet involves. I have worked in a mix of small animal and mixed animal practices but have focused on companion animal veterinary work since early in my career. I have worked in the UK for 18 months and worked as a locum in New Zealand for 2 years. The clinics have ranged from sole practice clinics through to very large clinics with multiple vets. The challenges that locum work brought has given me a great deal of experience in many different situations. My interest including small animal surgery (soft tissue and orthopaedic), behaviour, dermatology and ophthalmology. I am a great supporter of preventative health and creating management plans for patients and clients to make the most of the important human-pet bond that we all share with our animals. Having 5 cats and a dog myself i know the importance that pets play in our lives and how for many of us they are family members not just pets. I strive to continually update my knowledge and extend my expertise. In 2013 I passed oral and written examinations to become a Member of the Australian New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Surgery. I run puppy classes and junior canine classes as well as offering one on one behavioural sessions and problem solving.
