About Todd Hogan

My current role is the Global Application Technology Leader for Dow's Plastic Pipe Business. I'm responsible for new product development strategy and ensuring a robust product development and intellectual property pipeline. I provide technical support to Dow’s pipe resin customers and actively participate in industry organizations including the Plastic Pipe Institute, ASTM, NSF, American Gas Association and Society of Plastics Engineers. I first joined Dow in the Plastics Processing R&D group within Dow in 1990. My primary responsibilities there included new process development, single screw design, coextrusion, tooling design, process system design and troubleshooting. In 2004, I moved to Plastics TS & D with responsibilities for product and application development for sheet extrusion, thermoforming and foam sheet applications. In 2010, my career path led me to Photovoltaic Films R&D where I was a key process technology contributor in developing and commercializing ENLIGHT PV Films, including the design and start-up of film production lines in Thailand and Germany. I also led teams developing back sheet process technology and process R&D cost-reduction projects. In 2014 I returned to Plastics TS & D with responsibilities for product and application development for blow molding, foam sheet, hinged closures, sheet extrusion and thermoforming applications. I have 5 granted patents and have filed 14 patent applications. I have authored over 30 external publications and 133 Internal Dow reports. I’m a Dow Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. I was elected Honored Service Member of Society of Plastics Engineers in 2004. I’ve been a board member of the Detroit Section of SPE for 30 years. My wife and I grew up in Michigan and we have 2 children. I’m active in Boy Scouts of America and FIRST robotics and enjoy camping, backpacking, travelling and physical fitness.
