Someone once called me a polymath: I had to look it up. I am a multi-dimensional, life-loving soul who vibrates on the frequency of human connection; a thinker, creator, doer, mover, maker and shaker. GO FOR IT is my motto. I used to think that I needed to focus on one thing if I wanted to be "successful.” Then I got out of my own way. When you have an insatiable zest for life you cannot pigeonhole yourself into one realm of excellence."Stay in your lane" is not in my vocabulary. Professionally, I am one of the Publishers/Co-Owners of Mountain Life Media, part of a team of creative all-stars whose mission is to keep authenticity alive and well in niche outdoor media. I am the Founder and CEO of RISE Outdoor Innovation Inc. with a mission to create the world’s first rapid-inflatable (and deflatable) outdoor sleep system. I am a published writer & photographer. I am an author. It feels good to say that out loud. My book is called "Inside the Belly of an Elephant.” The thought that someone would read my book out of pure interest brings eternal gratitude to my soul. I am most proud to be the Co-Founder/Director of the Rise & Sean Foundation — a grassroots organization that funds and facilitates multi-day, education-specific outdoor field trips for students in developing nations. These are a few of my "Happy Places" — major interests in my life that drive me to live a full life. Adventurous International Travel. Having experienced the wonders of the world in 82 countries,(most of them from behind the handlebars of a motorcycle) travelling has taught me how to be a better human. Paddling— from canoe trips as a kid to worldwide sea kayak voyages and remote whitewater SUP expeditions. My happy place is on the river. I have been taught the virtues of integrity and respect by the storied game of golf. As a former CPGA Golf Professional, the love of the game runs deep. Skiing is arguably the best source of unadulterated freedom on the planet; outdoor alchemy at its finest — the premium blend of immersion in nature and exhilaration of adrenalin sport. Camping is the greatest escape known to mankind. Sitting next to a crackling fire with a glass of scotch in hand, sleeping under the stars and having coffee and bacon in the morning next to a mountain lake is my happy place. Climbing, hiking and scrambling in the alpine. Because nothing beats a good day in the mountains with friends. The only benchmark for success for me is raising a kind, respectful daughter who will go out into the world and create the best life of her own.
