Although I have taken time off from my full-time career (I even closed my businesses in the black/without debt) to focus on my personal health, I have an abundance of experience as a small business owner and a 30+ year demonstrated successful history in the nightclub & bar (NC & B), food & beverage (F&B), restaurant & bar (R&B) and Live Entertainment & Special Events industries. “I ‘get’ special events” and the challenges facing the NC & B/F&B/R&B/Live Entertainment & Special Events industries. I am a strong business development, promotions & marketing professional with a focus on NC & B and F&B business management, systems & forms along with an extensive Live Entertainment & Special Event planning, marketing and production/execution background. ServSafe certified with a BA in Communication Studies & Sociology from Central College (Iowa). “Street Fighter Marketing” specialist who studied under authors the Slutsky brothers and practices “Service That Sells” and “Positively Outrageous Service.” I understand the importance of social media but I also understand that it’s not the only form of marketing a business needs to be truly successful. I’m a firm believer in the power of word of mouth (WOM) marketing, first impressions, consistency and exceeding expectations. I’m a lifelong learner and leader who enjoys sharing my knowledge, expertise and passion for “eatertainment” and “drinkertainment” (IYKYK; if you don’t, please ask) and has repeatedly proven that properly promoted & executed entertainment increases profits. I’ve been called a “marketing guru” who specializes in grassroots local marketing centered around entertainment events. I make no apologies or excuses for - nor am I trying to hide - the fact that I’ve been out of the traditional workforce to focus on my personal health. I am proud of the tough battles I have fought and that we are now seeing some promising signs of positive progress. I have five surgical procedures coming up in June 2025, that I am very excited about. Don’t count me out. I have not given up. I will return — somewhere — even better than before!
