Background

About Todd Meyer

I have been teaching golf for the past 35 years and have given over private lessons and never get tired of what I do for a living. Playing great golf requires much more than patience and practice. Perfecting your game involves constant critique and analysis of how you are using your strength, flexibility, and natural talent to improve your game. All my lessons are conducted in season April 1 through November 15th at Algonquin Golf Club and at Elevated Performance/November 16th - March 31st. I use Trackman In some capacity in all of my lessons. I have the patience, knowledge and determination necessary to fine-tune players games. I teach players of all abilities and levels from the beginner to the aspiring Tour Professional. Teaching Philosophy: I Stress the basic fundementals Grip/Posture/Alignment, or in other words Getting/Prepared/Accurately Basic fundementals build a solid foundation Develop a swing that fits each individual's body structure, strength, and flexibility My goal is to help each individual understand his or her game and become confident Last but not least "Have Fun" Club Fitting Philosophy: Match the proper shaft to the individual's swing (flex, length, and weight). Find the proper loft. This is the most overlooked part in club fitting. Loft is so essential in changing the flight of the ball. We need more drivers built with 14-16 degrees of loft. 7 & 9 woods should replace long irons (3,4, and 5). Also the design of the hybrids has been tremendous. We need to make the game easier to get more participation. The typical set of 1-3-5 in woods and 3-PW in irons is outdated. New technology has given us an edge in finding the power set for each individual. Loft should be our friend not our enemy. I take deep pride in teaching this great game. I believe hard work pays off and I always say this quote to my students "There is nothing worse than wasted talent".
