About Todd Shellnutt

Flying, one of the very rare trades that is fueled almost solely by passion alone. From the time that a young child sees his/her first airplane or takes that first ride, they are hooked. To me, no other job that I have ever had, fuels my life like aviation does. When I first took my discovery flight at Southeastern Flight School in Macon, GA, I was determined to make aviation my life. After working as an instructor for a few years, I became fascinated with the learning aspect of aviation, and the study of how people learn. This has led me to the place I am today and has opened many new doors to my career. As an active flight instructor, a former designated pilot examiner, and an ATP rated pilot, I see all aspects of the field of aviation. My initiative for the future of aviation is to analyze the current training of the career oriented student pilot and make the training easier to understand and retain. There is always an easier way to do things, and inexperienced instructors who teach for a living, or time builders looking to move on to that jet job, can advance themselves further and faster by understanding the art of teaching. This allows the CFI to retain more customers while increasing flight time and income.
