About Todd Turner

Proudly serving the Los Angeles community for nearly three decades. I have been honored to have experience in the following assignments, all of which have been rewarding and challenging at the same time: Air Support, where I am a Lieutenant/Watch Commander and helicopter pilot. I am responsible for leading an extremely professional group of officers as we support the men and women of the LAPD. Police Lieutenant, in Newton Division where I managed dedicated patrol officers on patrol, completed complaint and use of force investigations and developed crime fighting strategies. VICE, where I worked undercover in plain clothes and lead a team of officers to stop human trafficking, prostitution, ABC violations, and assist detectives with criminal investigations. Police Sergeant, in Southwest Division where I was the first level of supervision/management overseeing patrol functions. I was also assigned to Use Of Force Review Division where I reviewed all Officer-involved shootings, in custody deaths and other serious use of force incidents resulting in the suspects being hospitalized. Finally, I was selected to invent a new unit/detail at the LA Live entertainment venue surrounding the Staples Center and Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles. I am also a Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute graduate. Police Officer, where I worked patrol, undercover/plain clothes narcotics, as a detective trainee, CRASH officer, in a special problems unit, as field training officer, and a senior gang officer.
